Friday, April 18, 2025, at 6pm.
As a body of Christ, we are called to support one another in spiritual need. We are also called to foster a sense of belonging and hope through meals like this. As we come together for a common cause—our faith in Jesus Christ—we’re reminded of the power of compassion.
Easter Holy Week Services
During Holy Week, many congregations prepare for the celebration of Easter through a series of meaningful services that reflect on the final days of Jesus Christ's life, His crucifixion, and His resurrection. These services offer an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and community engagement.
Palm Sunday
The observance begins with Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Congregations often distribute palm branches to symbolize this event. Services may include special hymns and readings that focus on Jesus' royal proclamation.
Maundy Thursday
Maundy Thursday remembers the Last Supper, where Jesus instituted the sacrament of Communion. Services typically feature the foot-washing ritual, symbolizing humble service, as well as the breaking of bread and sharing of the cup. This night is also marked by readings from the Scriptures that detail Jesus’ final teachings to His disciples.
Good Friday
Good Friday is a solemn observance that marks the crucifixion of Jesus. Services on this day often include scriptural readings that recount the Passion, meditative hymns, and moments of silence. Many congregations conduct a Tenebrae service, characterized by the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the darkness of Christ’s death.
Holy Saturday
On Holy Saturday, the church prepares for the joy of Easter through quiet reflection. Some congregations hold a vigil service that includes scripture readings, prayers, and the lighting of the Paschal candle, symbolizing the light of Christ overcoming darkness.
Easter Sunrise Sunday
Easter Sunrise joyfully celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. Services typically include jubilant music, vibrant decorations, and a message of hope and renewal. Baptisms may occur during this service, symbolizing new life in Christ.
These holy observances allow congregants to deepen their understanding of faith and the significance of Easter, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth during one of the most important weeks in the Christian calendar.
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Join us for a Bible study. Jesus Christ's teachings are examined, applied, and shared, often with the purpose of deepening our understanding and applying them in our daily lives through the Holy Spirit. Reading passages, discussing their meanings, and reflecting on their relevance are typically included in this activity. It can be done individually or in groups. Spiritual growth, faith enhancement, and guidance for living according to biblical principles are some of the goals of Bible study.
